The Bently Nevada 1701/15 FieldMonitor™ Proximitor® Input Monitor is a 2-channel device that receives signals from proximity probes. These probes detect the presence or absence of an object without physical contact and are commonly used to measure radial vibration and thrust (axial) position in machinery.

The 1701/15 module conditions these raw signals into appropriate measurement units (e.g., voltage, displacement), compares them to user-programmable alarm setpoints, and generates alarm signals if thresholds are exceeded. It can also provide current values of measured parameters to a host control system for indication and trending. The module includes embedded self-tests to assess its own integrity and that of its connected transducers, enabling the detection and annunciation of "NOT OK" conditions.
